Flashlight(s)... from Bolonha

Até apetece dizer que não há duas sem três...Pelo terceiro ano consecutivo, autores portugueses são premiados em Bolonha! Mais uma vez, o Planeta Tangerina está presente! Desta feita, foi Lá Fora, o magnífico guia para descobrir a natureza, que arrecadou o Bologna Ragazzi Award na categoria "Opera Prima". Dele falámos aqui. 

What the jury said
This dense volume is beautifully designed with elegant typography and a bold two-color palette. However, its true beauty lies in contrast of the traditional ‘guidebook’ format and clear scientific explanations with the playful and lyrical illustrations. Lá Fora book is an excellent solution to engage its readers and teach them to admire and respect everything "out there", just as the title suggests.

Avoiding cliché, this beautiful and unusual alphabet book uses whimsy, wit, and metaphor in unexpected, charming illustrations for each letter. Illustrating emotions instead of objects or actions, Hoje Sintoment is a wonderful dictionary of feelings.

Na lista dos premiados, encontrámos Flashlight, de Lizi Boyd, vencedor na categoria de Ficção.

It is growing dark and a little boy is peeping out of his tent looking out into the darkness. Using his flashlight, he discovers the friendly world nature at night. This book is a visual poem featuring lovely, original line illustrations on black paper with colour confined to the spaces lit up by the flashlight beam. The Flashlight tells a simple yet resonant story of a boy’s curiosity overcoming his fears.

Não podíamos estar mais de acordo. Descobrimo-lo há uns meses e ficámos deslumbrados! Mesmo com a lanterna ligada, trouxemos-lo na mala e nunca mais o largámos. Não resistimos a partilhá-lo.
